Pergola and Awning

The pergola in this courtyard, while creating the feel of an outdoor room, was aged and weakened.  It was attached to the fascia of the home.  The construction design was causing water flow issues from the flat roof and resulted in significant damage to the fascia.

We removed the pergola and repaired the damaged areas prior to painting the complete exterior of the home a deeper, rich color that coordinates with the brick and mortar.   A beautiful new, redesigned 10' pergola offers a delightful space for the homeowner to enjoy during any season.   Innovative shade covers made of Sunbrella marine fabric are easily extended or drawn as the homeowner wishes.

We stained the concrete beneath the pergola as you can see above, and in the side sitting area shown below.  The warm wheat tones mixed with black highlights tie the concrete in with the surrounding aggregate and the brick, and complete the finish of the peaceful, welcoming setting.

An outstanding part of the transformation included replacing the front door and gate, removing the unused buzzer units, and replacing the mailbox plate.  The new solid core, painted three-panel door adds character to the look of the entry as well as strengthens the security of the entrance.  We created a custom-designed gate which was powder-coated for longevity.  The gate design was carried into the custom-designed mailbox cover, with its bold street numbers and fresh, creative look.

The homeowner wanted dimension added to the flat front of the home, as well as weather protection for guests. We designed and constructed a small pergola with another bright canopy at the front door for a fun, eye-catching element and shelter for visitors. We removed the spotlights and added soffit cans across the front of the home, which wash the area with a soft, protective glow at night.
